Meet Mike Mitchell

Hello there! I’m Mike Mitchell, Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), REALTOR®, and Principal Broker with South and Company Properties. I specialize in listing and selling land throughout Mississippi, helping clients buy, sell, and invest in timberland, farmland, recreational properties, commercial and residential development properties, and homes with acreage.

My connection to the land runs deep. My love for the outdoors began in childhood through my Papaw, who taught my brother and me the value of hard work and the joys of exploring the woods and waterways of South Mississippi. Today, I’m proud to pass that passion on to my son, Riley, as we spend time hunting, fishing, and making lifelong memories in the great outdoors.

From Passion to Profession

Real estate is my second career, but it’s been a natural fit from the beginning. While working in telecommunications consulting across the Southeastern United States, I started investing in land as a retirement strategy. Over time, those investments turned into a hands-on hobby, where I found fulfillment in improving and managing rural properties. That passion eventually led me to pursue real estate as a full-time profession.

Today, I am proud to hold the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation, a distinction earned by fewer than 750 professionals worldwide. This designation reflects my expertise in all facets of land real estate, from understanding market trends to evaluating the unique qualities of timberland, farmland, and recreational properties. My goal is to provide unmatched service to my clients, whether they’re selling a family farm, purchasing a hunting retreat, or making a long-term investment in acreage.
